I was the sole digital editor and a digital associate producer for Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj, a weekly news and comedy show on Netflix. You can check out my work on the Webby Award-winning series Deep Cuts, as well as the other Digital Exclusives I have edited on the Patriot Act Youtube channel.

Definitely the video I am the most proud of, this intense response to the murder of George Floyd was given top priority and rushed into production at the beginning of June. Written, shot, and edited in just a few days, Hasan’s passionate plea about anti-Black racism in the South-Asian community quickly went viral, and Netflix ended up adding it to their platform. With closed captioning in over twenty languages, Netflix made the accessibility of this piece a priority, and I am very proud to have been a part of it.

At the end of the previous piece, Hasan asked Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison to prosecute the officers responsible for Floyd’s death. Ellison, who saw and appreciated the piece, sat down with Hasan for a two-and-a-half hour interview. Editing their conversation, along with the stunning b-roll of Minneapolis, was one of the highlights of my time at Patriot Act.

This deep-dive into whether coffee is helpful or harmful (spoiler: who knows!) was some of the most fun I’ve had with a video. Tons of quick cuts, sound effects, stock footage, and motion graphics.

A stylized deep-dive into the weird and wild mattress industry you’ve heard so much about from your favorite podcasts. With the help of local artist Timothy Goodman, we created a zany, chaotic, and (hopefully) informative piece.

Created as a companion to the Patriot Act episode on taxes, this ASMR video was originally an easter egg on turbotaxsucksass.com before going live on our YouTube channel. It was a super fun challenge to tackle a brand new style of video, but in the end I believe it was more than successful. I just wish he hadn’t wasted those apples.
